Volleyball Recap: Arcata Comes Up Short

Arcata was the 3-2 winner over Del Norte when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell 3-1 to the Warriors on Thursday.

Arcata was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Del Norte work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-14, 20-25, 26-24.

Pearl Smith paced Arcata's offense, picking up 12 kills. Smith got some help from Harper Appy and her 18 assists. Kyla Kinyon controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Arcata has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-10 record this season. As for Del Norte, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-8.

Arcata didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Fortuna on the 14th. As for Del Norte, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Liberty on the 10th.
