Holy Ground Baptist Academy extends road losing streak to three

The Holy Ground Baptist Academy Stallions were the 63-57 winner over the Lafayette Christian Cougars when they last played one another back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. Holy Ground Baptist Academy took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lafayette Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Bruno Tellez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 14 rebounds for Lafayette Christian. Tellez is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. Joshua Zapata was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.

Holy Ground Baptist Academy bumped their record down to 7-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lafayette Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Ground Baptist Academy will challenge Trinity Christian School of Griffin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian School of Griffin is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Lafayette Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Praise Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
