Football Recap: Canton Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Canton unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 42-38 to the Herscher Tigers on Friday.

Tanner Jones had an outrageously good game for Herscher as he threw for 235 yards and a pair of TDs, and also punched in two scores on the ground. Jones didn't just play on offense: he also made 11 total tackles and defended one pass.

Coming up, Canton is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Taylorville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Herscher, they will welcome Bishop McNamara at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
