Basketball Recap: Jacob Dunning's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lamar over Salida

After flying high against Buena Vista last Friday, Lamar came back down to earth. The Lamar Thunder fell just short of the Salida Spartans by a score of 67-65 on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (58), the Thunder still had to take the loss.

Lamar's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Dunning, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrian Jacobs, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 18 points and eight boards.

Lamar has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-7 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Salida and bumps their season record up to 15-8.

As of now, neither Lamar nor Salida have any future games scheduled.
