The Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders will take on the Eastern Hancock Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Indianapolis Scecina Memorial is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Monrovia on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Indianapolis Scecina Memorial lost 67-43 to Monrovia. The Crusaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-18.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaila Leath, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards, and Ainsley Brown, who went 7 of 16 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Leath has posted since back in December of 2024. Journee Thomas also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Meanwhile, Eastern Hancock unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 64-54 to Tri.
Despite the loss, Eastern Hancock saw an underclassman step up: sophomore McKenzie Koch posted 29 points. Koch's evening made it 22 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bella Sotelo, who had 11 points and seven steals.
Even though they lost, Eastern Hancock smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.
Eastern Hancock's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-3. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Indianapolis Scecina Memorial has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Eastern Hancock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
