Baseball Recap: Broomfield Beats Longmont for Their 12th Straight Victory

Broomfield waltzed into their game on Friday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Longmont Trojans. Considering the Eagles have won 15 matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ethan Zufall looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caden Williamson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Fritch, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Broomfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .381 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Broomfield's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Longmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Broomfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Longmont, they will take on Summit at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season.
