Basketball Recap: Searsport Takes a Loss

Searsport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners 59-13. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-12 back in December of 2024.

Searsport's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Deer Isle-Stonington, the victory snapped their losing streak at ten games and leaves them with a 2-10 record.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Jonesport-Beals the next time they take the court. Searsport will host Jonesport-Beals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Deer Isle-Stonington will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
