Softball Game Preview: Grandview Heights Bobcats vs. Bexley Lions

The Grandview Heights Bobcats will take on the Bexley Lions at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Bexley took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Grandview Heights, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Grandview Heights got the win against Whitehall-Yearling by a conclusive 12-1. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Ejheni Mdivanian made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Mdivanian was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Mdivanian wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Castle, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another was Callie Rutter, who scored three runs and stole a base.

Meanwhile, Bexley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 13-9 to Worthington Christian.

Elle Cochran was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Alison Lefkowitz, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Bexley's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Grandview Heights, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everything went Grandview Heights' way against Bexley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Grandview Heights made off with a 16-3 win. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
