Football Recap: Howard Takes a Loss

Howard had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it four. They took a blow against the Arendell Parrott Academy Patriots, falling 42-8. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Patriots are ranked first).

Tyshaun Hassell threw for 46 yards and one TD. Clarence Simmons was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for Arendell Parrott Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.1 points on average this season.

Christopher Stimson produced another solid effort throwing for 206 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 passes.

Looking ahead, Howard will venture away from home to challenge North Edgecombe at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 46.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Arendell Parrott Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. David's at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
