Basketball Recap: Sault Area Comes Up Short

After soaring to 61 points the game before, Sault Area was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They were dealt an 81-28 defeat at the hands of the Traverse City West Titans. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Titans are ranked 23rd).

Sault Area's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Traverse City West, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

When Sault Area and Traverse City West next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Sault Area will challenge Pickford and their eight-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Traverse City West will try to stop Cadillac's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
