Basketball Game Preview: Cambridge Lions vs. First Baptist Saints

Cambridge is 0-4 against First Baptist since January of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Cambridge Lions will look to defend their home court against the First Baptist Saints at 6:00 p.m.

Cambridge is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Ovilla Christian and fell 66-13. One positive for the Lions, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, First Baptist entered their tilt with Alcuin on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Hawks 62-6. With the Saints ahead 40-2 at the half, the match was all but over already.

First Baptist pushed their record up to 24-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.0 points per game. As for Cambridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Cambridge took a serious blow against First Baptist in their previous matchup on January 7th, falling 80-5. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cambridge was down 55-3.
