Football Game Preview: Battle Ground Academy Wildcats vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish + Official Tickets

The Battle Ground Academy Wildcats will face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Battle Ground Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Notre Dame likes a good challenge.

Battle Ground Academy's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Grace Christian Academy, posting a 35-0 victory. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Lions are ranked 67th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of Battle Ground Academy's win came down to the chemistry between Kaedyn Marable and his top target Maddox Porter. Marable threw for 326 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.1% of his passes while Porter picked up 252 receiving yards and three scores. Those 252 receiving yards gave Porter a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame fell victim to Grace Christian Academy and their airtight defense on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Rams. The Fighting Irish have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Battle Ground Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.9 points over those games. As for Notre Dame, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
