Recap: Sapulpa Chieftains vs. Will Rogers College Ropers
The Sapulpa Chieftains can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 67-59 victory over Will Rogers College. The win was just what Sapulpa needed coming off of a 54-34 loss in their prior game.
Several Ropers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dkarrion Titsworth, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Oates iii, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Sapulpa now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Will Rogers College, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Sapulpa won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Holland Hall at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. Holland Hall presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sapulpa in Oklahoma (Holland Hall is ranked 19th, while Sapulpa is ranked 130th). As for Will Rogers College, they will be playing at home against Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Memorial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
