Softball Preview: Tustin Tillers vs. Cypress Centurions

Tustin is 0-10 against Cypress since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tustin Tillers will be staying on the road to face off against the Cypress Centurions at 3:15 p.m.

Last Thursday, Tustin fell victim to a rough 11-3 defeat at the hands of Crean Lutheran. That's two games in a row now that Tustin has lost by exactly eight runs.

Samantha Reyes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Cypress got themselves on the board against Mayfair on Friday, but Mayfair never followed suit. They had just enough and edged the Monsoons out 1-0. The victory was just what Cypress needed coming off of a 7-0 loss in their prior game.

Delaney Faus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just zero earned runs on two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Cypress' win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Lopez, who went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Tustin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Cypress, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.
