Basketball Game Preview: Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs vs. Mater Brickell Academy Bulls

Having just played yesterday, the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs will jump right back in to play the Mater Brickell Academy Bulls at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Dr. Joaquin Garcia took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 62-51 win over Goleman.

Dr. Joaquin Garcia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cristian Brown led the charge by as he made all 6 shots he took for 12 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cody Hollis, who posted nine points and five boards.

While Mater Brickell Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Westland Hialeah 69-31. The Bulls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 21 points or more this season.

Mater Brickell Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
