Football Recap: Decatur Eisenhower Takes a Loss

Decatur Eisenhower extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were dealt a 63-24 defeat at the hands of the Rochester Rockets. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-16.

Despite the loss, Decatur Eisenhower still got an impressive performance from Garryon Henderson, who threw for 291 yards and three TDs while picking up 14.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 122 yards on only 11 carries. 152 of Henderson's passing yards were hauled in by Austin Johnson, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

As for Rochester, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.6 points.

Tanner Beal was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Those 250 passing yards gave him a new career-high. David Kates helped Beal out on the ground, rushing for 76 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries.

Decatur Eisenhower didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-12 loss against Normal University on the 10th. As for Rochester, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 51-14 win against MacArthur on the 10th.
