Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Screven County). They came out on top against the Claxton Tigers by a score of 80-68 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 67-53 back in January.
Jase Hughes had an outrageously good game as he went 5 for 8 en route to 15 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Demarko Ward was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Screven County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.
The win got Screven County back to even at 10-10. As for Claxton, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16.
