Basketball Recap: North Canyon Rattlers vs. Sierra Linda Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McClintock, the North Canyon Rattlers were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They skirted past Sierra Linda 38-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory North Canyon has posted since November 25, 2023.
North Canyon was led to victory by Lanaya McCloud and Ava Adams. McCloud scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Adams dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. Another player making a difference was Jonni Brown, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
North Canyon now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Sierra Linda, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-23.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Canyon will take on the Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Arizona (South Mountain is ranked 165th, while the Rattlers are ranked 177th). As for Sierra Linda, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Metro Tech is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
