Baseball Recap: Shelton Gaels vs. West Haven Blue Devils
Shelton had lost five straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 3-5 to make it six. They fell just short of the West Haven Blue Devils by a score of 6-4. The Gaels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
As for West Haven, the victory got them back to even at 4-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 29, 2024.
For West Haven's part, the team relied heavily on Brady Price, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That run marked the first that Price has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Padilla, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shelton will square off against Notre Dame at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for West Haven, they will head out to face off against Trumbull at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
