Baseball Game Preview: Sheboygan Area Lutheran Crusaders vs. Reedsville Panthers

Sheboygan Area Lutheran is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Reedsville a three-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Sheboygan Area Lutheran Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Reedsville Panthers at 4:30 p.m.

Sheboygan Area Lutheran came up short against Random Lake on Thursday, falling 8-2.

Sheboygan Area Lutheran saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Schulze, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Reedsville had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on Brillion with a sharp 14-4 win on Sunday.

Kodie Bubolz was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Caleb Schwahn and Ben Prochnow did most of the damage at the plate: Schwahn scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Prochnow scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Those three runs gave Schwahn a new career-high. Logan Maertz was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Reedsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brillion only managed two hits.

Sheboygan Area Lutheran beat Reedsville 5-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
