Recap: Martin Warriors vs. Bowie Volunteers
The Martin Warriors entered their tilt with the Bowie Volunteers with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Martin slipped by Bowie 30-29 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Martin also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Brooks Briggance threw for 98 yards and a touchdown. Trantan Miles was his top target, picking up 51 receiving yards.
Several Volunteers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tavares Duckett, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Duckett's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards. Another player making a difference was Keidric Osunde-brown, who picked up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Martin's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points per game. As for Bowie, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
Martin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bowie will be playing at home against Dallas Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Dallas Jesuit is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
