Basketball Recap: Julian Estevaz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead East Ridge over Freedom

East Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell to the Freedom Patriots 67-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (57), the Knights still had to take the loss.

East Ridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Estevaz, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 21 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Corman, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Freedom to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josue Romero, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Adam Negede was another key player, going 6 of 11 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds.

East Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Freedom, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

East Ridge will welcome South Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Freedom, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 71-70 victory against Mount Dora on the 11th.
