Basketball Recap: Overhills' Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Overhills put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-51 W against the Lumberton Pirates. The 57-point effort marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Leading Overhills to victory were Najiha Allen and Paris Autry. Allen dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Autry shot 64% from the field on her way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. The contest was Autry's ninth in a row with at least 15 points. Gabby Frank was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Overhills' victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Lumberton, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Overhills will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hoggard at 6:00 p.m. on December 5. As for Lumberton, they will face off against South View at 6:00 p.m. on December 3.
