Softball Recap: River View Black Bears vs. Meadowbrook Colts
River View extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-11 in the process. They lost 11-3 to the Meadowbrook Colts. The Black Bears were not able to make up for their defeat to the Colts from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.
Addy Blair made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run.
As for Meadowbrook, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.
On Meadowbrook's side, Addy Sichina made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Sichina has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addy Wiggins, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Sommer Ginn was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.
Coming up, River View will be playing at home against West Muskingum at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
