Baseball Recap: Poly Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Poly's offense. They fell just short of the Valley View Eagles by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Danny Bedford was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Poly's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Valley View, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Poly will square off against rival Liberty at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Valley View is set to face off against their familiar foe Lakeside at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
