Football Game Preview: St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays vs. Bolton Academy Bears + Official Tickets

The St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays will take on the Bolton Academy Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Edmund knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Bolton Academy likes a good challenge.

On Friday, St. Edmund needed a bit of extra time to put away Catholic of Pointe Coupee. They skirted past the Hornets 52-50.

St. Edmund's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Wyatt Dubois, who rushed for 53 yards and five scores, and Nathan Driggs, who rushed for 134 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. Edmund was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 245 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 189 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Bolton Academy's offense. They took a blow against Avoyelles on Friday, falling 69-0. The Bears have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

St. Edmund's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Bolton Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. St. Edmund has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 215.9 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Bolton Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 66.4 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
