Basketball Recap: Midland Comes Up Short

Midland lost against Seneca back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Midland Timberwolves lost to the Seneca Fighting Irish on the road by a 50-36 margin. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 627th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 190th).

Midland's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Seneca, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Midland will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. Bede at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. As for Seneca, they will look to defend their home court on February 4th against Beecher at 7:00 p.m.
