Basketball Game Preview: St. Martinville Tigers vs. Cecilia Bulldogs

St. Martinville has gone 8-2 against Cecilia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The St. Martinville Tigers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Cecilia Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. St. Martinville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when St. Martinville challenged Catholic - N.I. on Wednesday. St. Martinville took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Catholic - N.I.

Despite the defeat, St. Martinville got top-tier performance from Kristian Batiste, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 17 points and three steals. That's the most points Batiste has posted since back in December of 2024. Makharee Narcisse was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Cecilia didn't have quite enough to beat Livonia on Tuesday and fell 46-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered against the Wildcats since February 20, 2021.

Cecilia's defeat dropped their record down to 18-16. As for St. Martinville, their loss dropped their record down to 15-17.

St. Martinville was able to grind out a solid victory over Cecilia when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 48-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Martinville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
