Basketball Game Preview: Green Bay Preble Hornets vs. De Pere Redbirds

Green Bay Preble hasn't had much luck against De Pere recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Green Bay Preble Hornets will head out to square off against the De Pere Redbirds at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

While Green Bay Preble didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They snuck past Sheboygan South with a 65-61 victory on Friday. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Redwings are ranked 358th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, De Pere came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with an 83-82 win over the Jaguars.

De Pere pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.9 points per game. As for Green Bay Preble, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Green Bay Preble was dealt a bruising 85-39 defeat at the hands of De Pere in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Green Bay Preble avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
