Softball Recap: McLean Highlanders vs. Glen Allen Jaguars
McLean dropped their record down to 21-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They came up short against the Glen Allen Jaguars, falling 6-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Highlanders haven't been shut out since back in May.
As for Glen Allen, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-7. Considering they have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
For Glen Allen's part, the result came thanks to Jaidyn Tillman's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. Tillman has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ashton Limbach was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Ally Von Herbulis, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
McLean does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Glen Allen, they will take on Western Branch at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight.
