Basketball Recap: Bryce Cooper Key Part of a Team Effort in Tigers Win

While Dexter didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 52-45 victory over the Bangor Christian Patriots on Monday. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 58-29 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dexter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryce Cooper, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isiah Robinson, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds.

Dexter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Dexter's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Bangor Christian, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3.

Dexter will venture away from home to square off against Foxcroft Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bangor Christian, they will welcome Searsport at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bangor Christian is facing Searsport at the right time seeing as Searsport is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
