Baseball Recap: East Duplin Extends Winning Streak to Three

East Duplin let North Lenoir stack four runs on them in the third inning on Thursday but luckily East Duplin prevailed anyway. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks, sneaking past 5-4. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by just one run.

East Duplin let Austin Rouse and Sawyer Marshburn run wild. Rouse went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Marshburn went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That home run marked the first that Rouse has launched this season.

The win (which was East Duplin's third in a row) raised their record to 10-6. As for North Lenoir, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Duplin will welcome Southern Wayne at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for North Lenoir, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Rosewood at 1:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 4.1, the Eagles 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
