Marquette Catholic and River Forest are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Blazers will face off against the Ingots at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Meanwhile, River Forest hadn't done well against Whiting recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Ingots blew past the Oilers 16-3. The result was nothing new for the Ingots, who have now won four matchups by 13 runs or more so far this season.

Brandon Fergerson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Sebastian Collazo IV was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Walter Jaime, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

River Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whiting only posted a batting average of .222.
