Baseball Recap: Mossyrock Comes Up Short

After flying high against Morton/White Pass last Friday, Mossyrock came back down to earth. The Vikings fell 4-1 to the Raymond/South Bend Ravens on Saturday.

Easton Kolb was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Kolb wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gunnar Callies, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Shaun Fry also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Mossyrock now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Raymond/South Bend, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-11.

As of now, neither Mossyrock nor the Ravens have any future games scheduled.
