Basketball Game Preview: Forest Park Bruins vs. Woodson Cavaliers

The Forest Park Bruins will be taking part in a tournament against the Woodson Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Forest Park is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Patriot just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers.

Meanwhile, Woodson waltzed into their contest on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 47-35. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Lions are ranked 155th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Forest Park better focus on containing Noah Limbago and Theo Burke as the pair were huge in Woodson's win. Limbago dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, while Burke posted 11 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Ryan Corallo, who had five points.

Forest Park's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Woodson, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
