River Valley saw some tournament action on Monday. They walked away with a 56-49 victory over the Piketon Redstreaks.

River Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braden Bennett out in front who went 5-for-12 en route to 19 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bennett has scored at least a third of River Valley's points. Gary Truance was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Despite the loss, Piketon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jace Ritchie almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Those 14 points gave Ritchie a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bo Henry, who posted nine points and eight boards.

River Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-20. As for Piketon, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Coming up, River Valley will take on Fairland in a tournament on Friday. Fairland will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something River Valley surely won't give up without a fight. Piketon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
