Basketball Recap: Metro-East Lutheran Takes a Loss

Metro-East Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were dealt a 58-14 loss at the hands of the Marquette Catholic Explorers. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-9.

Isabelle McLeod was Metro-East Lutheran's leading scorer, having posted four points. McLeod also led the team in assists with two. Avery Simaytis held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Metro-East Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 2-23. As for Marquette Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Metro-East Lutheran will host Father McGivney Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marquette Catholic, they will challenge Maryville Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
