Softball Recap: Horseshoe Bend Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Horseshoe Bend dropped their record down to 20-8-1 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They lost 13-5 to the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Generals, who until this match were averaging 3.03 runs allowed.

Cara Mae Davis was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Lily Moss was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

As for Lee-Scott Academy, they pushed their record up to 22-11-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.

On Lee-Scott Academy's side, Railey Langford was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Langford was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on McKenzie Johnson, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Karlee Baker, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
