Softball Recap: Crooksville Takes a Loss

Crooksville lost against Meadowbrook last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Ceramics fell just short of the Colts by a score of 3-2. The Ceramics have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elyse Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Crooksville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paige Frame, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Crooksville's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Meadowbrook, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Crooksville will challenge rival Morgan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Meadowbrook is set to square off against their familiar foe Tri-Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Colts 2.9, the Scotties 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
