Basketball Recap: Hammon Takes a Loss

If Hammon was riding high fresh off their 70-28 takedown of Quinton on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hammon Warriors fell 55-47 to the Laverne Tigers on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Tigers are ranked 196th).

Hammon's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Laverne, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Hammon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-39 win against Merritt on the 25th. Laverne has also already played their next contest, a 52-45 victory against Duke on the 25th.
