Volleyball Game Preview: Governor Mifflin Mustangs vs. Northeastern Bobcats

The Governor Mifflin Mustangs will challenge the Northeastern Bobcats on Saturday. Governor Mifflin is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Governor Mifflin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Emmaus, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since March 29th.

Governor Mifflin took Emmaus into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The final score came out to 25-23, 22-25, 24-25, 25-18, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Northeastern faced Pennsbury in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Bobcats had just enough and edged out the Falcons 3-2.

Northeastern wouldn't go down easily and took Pennsbury into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 15-11.

Northeastern has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-12-8 record this season. As for Governor Mifflin, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Governor Mifflin was able to grind out a solid victory over Northeastern in their previous matchup on Friday, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
