Greater Atlanta Christian has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Centennial Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Greater Atlanta Christian strolled past Chattahoochee with points to spare, taking the game 44-28.
Myla Benton and Asia Johnson were among the main playmakers for Greater Atlanta Christian as the former scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals and the latter scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Johnson hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Sydney Lucas was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Centennial scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They snuck past Kell with a 72-68 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Centennial got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Diamond Leslie out in front who scored 29 points. Leslie's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Perez, who scored 23 points.
Greater Atlanta Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Centennial, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Greater Atlanta Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.2 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Centennial, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 rebounds per game. Given Greater Atlanta Christian's sizeable advantage in that area, Centennial will need to find a way to close that gap.
