Sandy Valley had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-12 to make it 12. They fell just short of the Beatty Hornets by a score of  12-11. On the bright side, the 11- run  performance marked the Sidewinders' highest-scoring  match to date.
Beatty's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the  game before.
 For Beatty's part,  Mayrin Castro was a standout: she got on base  in all five of her plate appearances with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI. That  RBI marked the first that  Castro has  brought in this season.  Melody Vargas was another key player,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with three  stolen bases and two  RBI.
While Sandy Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
