Basketball Game Preview: Donahue Catholic Shamrocks vs. Marco Island Academy Rays

The Donahue Catholic Shamrocks will challenge the Marco Island Academy Rays at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Donahue Catholic's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Marco Island Academy has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Donahue Catholic's tournament run continued when they took on Seacrest Country Day on Saturday. The Shamrocks walked away with a 69-57 win over the Stingrays.

Isaac Loboda had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 28 points and 11 boards. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corban Copeland, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Marco Island Academy scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of DeSoto County.

Marco Island Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Donahue Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Everything came up roses for Donahue Catholic against Marco Island Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured an 85-49 win. In that game, the Shamrocks amassed a halftime lead of 41-17, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
