Recap: Sacramento Dragons vs. Escalon Cougars
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Sacramento Dragons, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 57-32 walloping at the hands of Escalon on Friday. Sacramento's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Escalon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sam Jimenez led the charge by picking up 130 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Jamin Miller and his 140 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Escalon's victory.
Sacramento's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Escalon, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Sacramento does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Escalon will square off against West Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Park has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 137 points over their last three games.
