Baseball Game Preview: Southfield Christian Eagles vs. Inter-City Baptist Chargers

The Southfield Christian Eagles will head out to take on the Inter-City Baptist Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Southfield Christian turned things around against Redford Union on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Panthers a 15-0 shutout. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

Meanwhile, Inter-City Baptist hadn't done well against Ecorse recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Chargers won by a run and slipped past the Raiders 5-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Chargers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Luke Harrison, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Ryan Spencer also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Inter-City Baptist now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Southfield Christian, their record now sits at 5-8.
