Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hazard). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls a 20-0 shutout on Monday. The Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs have beaten the Owls / Lady Owls the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Owls / Lady Owls has come to flipping the script.
Baylynn Roll made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Maggie Combs was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Kadence Stollings, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Hazard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .867. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
