Volleyball Recap: Mercer Tigers vs. Butternut Midgets
Mercer lost against Butternut back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tigers fell 2-0 to the Midgets. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Ryley Saarnio paced Mercer's offense, picking up seven kills. Saarnio got some help from Stella Thompson and her seven assists. Anya Brandenburg controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Lizzie Pritzl was the offensive standout of the contest as she had nine digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last six games she's played.
Mercer's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Butternut, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-14.
Mercer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Tournament Opponent on the 4th. As for Butternut, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Hurley on the 4th.
