Marist faced IC Catholic Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The RedHawks won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Knights 29-28. The RedHawks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

IC Catholic Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nate Lang, who threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes. IC Catholic Prep's leading receiver Grant Bowen was Lang's top target yet again, picking up 142 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Marist's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for IC Catholic Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marist will venture away from home to face off against Providence Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for IC Catholic Prep, they will head out to challenge St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.4 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
