Basketball Recap: Sidwell Friends Takes Down Ranked Saint James

Sidwell Friends is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Saint James. The Sidwell Friends Quakers walked away with a 58-45 win over the Saint James Saints. The victory was familiar territory for the Quakers, who have now won four matches in a row.

Sidwell Friends' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ian Condon led the charge by dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Condon is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadah Washington, who on his way to 10 points and five steals.

Sidwell Friends smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Jayden Yates and Christian Gladchuk certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Yates to rack up 27 points, while Gladchuk en route to 13 points. Yates continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Sidwell Friends' record now sits at 18-5. As for Saint James, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.

Sidwell Friends wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-50 win against Flint Hill on the 15th. As for Saint James, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-49 loss against St. Andrew's Episcopal on the 19th.
